releaser and position indicator

Mar. 20, 2024 I want to consult

The relationship between the release device and the position indicating beacon means that when the ship is in distress and the hull sinks to a certain depth (usually 1.5~4.0m), the seawater static pressure is measured by the release device, the release mechanism automatically starts, and the position indicating beacon It breaks away from the bracket or storage box, surfaces, and starts emitting alarm signals so that search and rescue units can accurately determine its location.

The working principle between the releaser and the position indicator is that the internal mechanical structure of the releaser is mainly composed of three parts: diaphragm, spring and blade. When water enters the chamber, under the action of water pressure, the diaphragm deforms, thereby pushing up the upper spring to loosen and compress, releasing the blade to cut off the rope or plastic screw. The release depth of the releaser is generally 1.5~4m, and the validity period of the releaser is generally 17 months. After expiration, the releaser should be replaced with a new one. The maintenance of the releaser should be carried out by an authorized unit, and the interval between each maintenance should not exceed 12 months.

A position indicator beacon is a beacon that can emit radio signals. It uses the radio frequency signals it emits to indicate its position and status, so that search and rescue units can accurately determine its location. It is an important ship-to-shore alarm device in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
