No equalizing charging required: Maintenance-free marine batteries do not need equalizing charging because there is no acid layer. Balanced charging means that during the use of flooded lead-acid batteries, in order to eliminate the acid layer phenomenon and individual differences between batteries, it is necessary to increase the charging voltage and activate the battery. Equalizing charging will increase water decomposition and gas release, requiring electrolyte filling and regular inspections. Maintenance-free marine batteries only need to be float charged.
